September 2004

30.09.2004
Aloha. I have been a bit better today, compared to yesterday at any rate. Went to work like a good old boy, I did. Nothing much for me to do there, since the Kazakhstan shipment didn't come through yet, but that's besides the point. I made some deliveries today. Always nice to drive around. This one, though, was special. I loved their freight elevator. You can observe it on the picture of the day.
Today was also a special day because I watched
Fahrenheit 9/11 today. I honestly didn't quite see what the fuss was all about. Yes, Moore points a lot of fingers, sure. He does, however, provide a lot more "suggestions" than facts. I cannot imagine that anyone with an IQ of over a 100 and a general knowledge of world events (I.E. reads a newspaper  more than once a week) can be swayed by that "documentary". Ah well.  I guess the best way to sum it up is "If you don't believe that US landed on the moon I guess you'll believe everythin' that 9/11 has to say.".
Enough about Mr. Moore, though. Let me shed some links on you. First, here is "Muscle Girl". If it wouldn't be for the titties, she woulda been quite fuckable. And a nice game. Original, even. Which is pretty rare on the web these days. DoggyBall. Hint - use the fan. Oh yeah, and Allahu Akbar. Blessed be the "freedom fighters".

Day 122

Mirror, Mirror on the wall..

29.09.2004
Aargh! Blasted be the beer! Oh the accursed nectar of Nordic Gods.. The thing is, girlie got a sudden craving for alcoholic beverages last evening, and I, not wanting to be stuck sober with a drunk and unruly girlfriend on my hands, ran off and bought myself a six pack. We didn't get sloshed. Or, rather, I didn't get sloshed. We had a good time, shooting crap, and went off to bed some time around 3am. The problem was that I had to be at work around 9am. And beer, well, makes me very drowsy. And failed to wake up to my alarm clock. Then had to call work around 1pm to "explain", i.e. lie, that I forgot my phone at home, and am at school, etc, etc. So here I am, having wasted a whole day playing Battlefield Vietnam. And just lurking on the net. I am an utter failure at life.
But on the bright side, I did have time to make up for absence of links yesterday. Got a whole load of them for you today. Before that, however, here are some songs requested from me by my in-laws. 1, 2, 3, 4, 5. Sorry, that was all we were able to find on the net, Hava! I tried listening to the songs, but my ears started to bleed and I stopped, lest I suffer a brain hemorrhage. But still.. Enjoy (?)...
Yes, now for the links. First off, a nifty game, WallBall. I liked the sounds.. You know them fans that run out onto the field during the matches? Well, here they are, streaker girls. And if that still didn't amuse you, amuse yourself with shadow figures! Oh, and here is a gem: Car Sex - Caught In Action! Hilarious shit, that. And that's it then. No more death threats, eh?

Day 121

Just blame everything on the beer.

28.09.2004
Yes. Yes, I have been a naughty, tardy boy. Not updating the blog and all.. But don't blame me. Nu-huh, it was the fault of evil Windows XP Service Pack 2. Let me begin at the beginning...
I was invited to a LAN Party, by a couple of my friends going by the name of Bonus and Ultra. A very small LAN party, only 4 computers, one of them a laptop, for dog's sake. Still, it was very entertaining. We played Battlefield : Vietnam, Command & Conquer : Generals, Doom III... But before that I re-installed my Windows XP. I had a poorly pirated copy of XP before that, with some weird shit going on with most of my protocols, and a disabled firewall & sharing. In order to remedy these numerous problems, I decided to install Windows XP with SP2. Pirated as well. This one worked well, but, through no fault of the pirates, SP2 conflicted with some of my programs. Like Netscape Composer, that I (ok, I'm lame) used for editing this blog. So I couldn't update for a few days, until I found a suitable replacement. Besides, I forgot my camera cable at the LAN party, and thus was unable to download pics from my camera. So see, I had many good reasons not to update. And my heart bled every second that my blog was stranded there, un-updated...
What else... Oh! We took our cats to the vet, to get them vaccinated. We stuck them both into the same kitty box, and took them for their first car ride. At the vet they met a couple of dogs, and were unimpressed. We waited for an hour to be admitted by a nurse that I think was more than slightly retarded, and finally got to see the vet. That went reasonably well, except that the vet discovered a host of weird, black parasites in the little ears of our precious catsies. They had to be killed off with rigorous washing of ears (the parasites, not the cats), a procedure that brought our cats to the brink of a nervous breakdown. Then the vet excavated their ears with a cue tip. Awesome sight. They had a spoonfull of black crud in each ear. Looked like miniature caviar. The actual poking with a thick needle didn't rattle them much, surprisingly. The good points of this treatment is that they are still mildly catatonic, and the bad points of the treatment is that they are still mildly catatonic. Slinky, the black one, still sitting on the washing machine where she has been camping for a day and a night now, and Rosey, the white one, is mostly sleeping. I must admit that it is weird to see them act that way. I kinda wish that they will perk up soon.  Poor kitties. I'll go pet the washing machine camper now. I wonder why the hell did she choose a washing machine to camp out on, and not a bad or a sofa? Weird cat.
  Oh, and no links today!

Day 120

Lan Party... Huge, eh?

23.09.2004
Um. Hello. Me is back. Rub my back... Ah what a blissfull day it has been. Oh indeed. No real work at all, only spent around an hour at work, then picked up my old ball and chain in town, and gave it a "Wining & Dining". Or that was the idea, but the silly cunt ate something before I called and invited her to a chink restaurant. Well, at least lunch was cheap that way. Oh, and a word about the restaurant... It is one of the only chinese restaurants in town with polite waiters. Yes. It's called "Nan King" or something chinky like that. Very nice, if a bit pricier than most others (around 11 Eur a meal).
After stuffing my face with chinese goodness till I nearly passed out, it was time to spend a little bit of hard-earned cash on some hardware. Yeah... Lovely hardware... I bought an LG DVD drive and a new Logitech mouse. Both stylishly black. And 10m of RJ-45 cable, so that I can lay on the couch with a laptop and not fear the net cable popping out. All in all around 40 Eur. Not much, eh? I guess I should have bought a DVD burner, but I was too cheap. Muh.
And then I visited a friend that I have not seen for a long time. The silly bugger's got a kid now and stuff. Kids, as I found out, are a lot more trouble than cats. They are so much more attention seeking, and they scream louder. This particular specimen was very snotty, too. And drooly. But I am sticking with cats so far. Although I bet kids have a lot of good points as well. Heh. Nah, who am I kidding? Sheesh.
And here we are again, at the end of the post. You want links again, right? Ok. Here goes. A little something about Saudi Arabia. Oh yeah, and did ya hear that the soldiers of the most peaceful religion slaughtered two italian women who's only crime it was that they were helping the Iraqi people? I wish this would happend to the perpetrators. Sigh. I think I will skip the "fun" links today.

Day 119

Chinky!

22.09.2004
Yay! I just came back from the movie theater, been watching Shrek 2 (BBC Online review). I liked it a lot. Can't say I loved it, like one would live a deeply moving movie, but Shrek 2 filled the need for light, relatively clever, entertainment perfectly. The voice actors were good, and the jokes not bad at all. But enough about Shrek, I guess. I'm off watching CSI.
Nothing much else has been going on. My bosses are leaving for USA tomorrow, so I get to drive around on a company car. Whee... Work still sucks though. Especially now, since the bosses burdened me with extra responsibilities... I hate responsibility! Meh! It's a bad feeling, knowing that if you screw up it's your head that's going to be on the block. And I don't even get any financial compensation for the extra shit I have to do. The satisfaction of a job well done just doesn't cut it. Not if you dislike your job as intensely as I do. Fuck work.
And since work is out, lets play. Here is a nice game, Rough Justice. And here is a nice present for your girlfriend: Tampon Socks. And a little sprinkling of babes here. Thats it then. I think I'm off to IRC now.

Day 118

He's back.

21.09.2004
Just woke up. I've been out of action for a while. Not that I was sick, or anything like that. I just didn't feel like updating. It seemed an insurmountable tack to get off the couch, close the laptop and just sit in front of the computer. And the more I sat inactive, the more difficult it became for me to rise and get on with it all. Well, I decided to break that vicious circle today.
Just to review the past few days. I worked some, drove over 150 Km making deliveries for my company, and almost didn't "party" on the weekend. The only time I did something worthwhile was when I stepped out and met my old dorm neighbor and watched Russian stand-up comedians on DVD. With some vodka, naturally. That was the only fun thing I've done. Then visited dad, who was passed out drunk as it turned out, and spent time with very drunk Russian thugs. Pretending to drink. And snuck out as soon as was able to.
Now I am mildly ill, took a day off from work, and am enjoying the solitude, since my girlie is at work. Enjoying might be a strong word, though. I'm bored. Just logged on to IRC, again. It has dragged me in again. A lot of nice people there that I've known on and off for the past 4 years. Oh well. I think it's time for me to read my new Pratchett books.
But before that, some links. Again. Here is some more on the muslim situation in Malmo and Sweden in general. Sad stuff, that. And to cheer you up... Hmm. Lemme think. Here are some duct tape fanatics. And here is nice game. Help the drunk fuck get home! Very realistic. My record so far is 51 meters.

Day 117

Weekend. Nuff' said.

16.09.2004
Ah. Bliss. More good news. I passed my driving exam! I now have a driver's license again! Now I can make deliveries for the company I work at again (drove to the Finnish Army Headquarters today, cool place), I can borrow my parents cars, I can... I dunno, do car stuff. Ain't buying a car though. Too expensive to own one in Finland, I think. The insurance, the gas... Brrr. I tried that once, no thanks. I can barely keep myself fed as it is. Oh, and the cool thing is that my mum went off to St.Petersburg and left me the car for 3 days! Awesome...
And in other news.. I joined in on the technical revolution. I bought a... Microwave Oven! Yes. It only set me back 39 Eur, and now I can make those dreamy micro-pizzas, and all sorts of quick unhealthy shit. It's going to be bliss. The thing is I never really had a microwave. Mum didn't trust them, so I grew up without one. Then I just sorta didn't need it in my life. But since I now have a girlfriend, she badgered me into buying one. It better be worth it, dammit.
Oh, and about "The Sims" I got yesterday... The game proved to be somewhat boring. The dude I created was boring. Shower, clean up, watch the telly, have a crap... It was like a boring version of my own life. But I still feel like playing it just a bit...
And as for some links... I'm feeling lazy. I will just give you some nubile beach chicks. Maybe will post more fun stuff later.

Day 116

The Finnish Army Headquarters.

15.09.2004
W00T!! I passed my driving theory exam! Me is teh r0xor. No, but seriously... It took me 7 tries to pass the exam the first time I took it, like 3 years ago... Tomorrow is my driving practice exam, hope I will pass. Will be driving my mum's Renault Megane. The first time I took a driving exam, I passed it with flying colors. I just hope it goes as well tomorrow.
Ah yes. I also got "The Sims" with "The Sims - The House Party" today. For free. At a garage sale. I've heard its as addictive as crack, and I still haven't installed it. I am almost afraid of it, actually. I will try to make my sims life as close to mine as possible. They will probably be better at it than I am...
Oh, and yet another piece of "breaking news" : My cousin, Petya, is getting married. That 21 year old kid is fucking getting married. That's what you get for banging up your girlfriend down in South Russia. A shotgun wedding. Poor fellow. To have his life cut so short... Sigh. I am going to the wedding, around mid-October. This one's for you, mate.  RIP.
And that is it for today. Except for a few links, as usual. First, some fun Wiggly Titties! And then for a not-so-fun recording of the Jakarta Embassy Bombing. As recorded by a security camera.

Day 115

Cool graffitti, eh?

14.09.2004
Aww, shucks. It looks like I have not updated the blog for a few days. Well fucking sue me. No, not really. Don't.
I did want to update yesterday, with a nice picture on the theme of the WTC, but nooo... I had to fuck up with photoshop and destroy the only good pic I've taken. I mean, nigga, please...
And so we come to the obligatory depiction of the events in my life for the past few days. Sigh. I know that if I wont do it I'll just forget everything in a week or two. It's like living in fucking "Memento".
Ok. Here we go. Remember the previous post? If you don't, just look a bit lower. I was supposed to have my pay day. The money is still not on my account. My boss forgot to transfer it. Yay. Also, I was supposed to have my driving theory exam retake on Monday, but due to the public transportation strike I couldn't make it to the driving school. Or to work. I didn't mind not making it to work, though. I also lost my keys on Saturday. For the first time in what must be around 6 years. I was out with Bonus and his friend from Tallinn, Sergei. We visited Molly Malones, listened to the live band (Jagermeisters, utter crap from Sweden), and went off to Iguana. That's where I left my keys, as I found out later when I gave them a call. I picked them up an hour ago. Phew. It turns out I've done quite a lot in these past few days. But all that real life activity might end, since I've rediscovered IRC. And a lot of people I used to hang out with there.
So that was that. Now I am free to go IRC again, but before that I will sprinkle you with some links. Hmm. Now let me think. Oh yeah, how about this one? 50 Weirdest Guinness book records. And for our next trick... I give you... Neon tuning for bicycles! Gotta get me one of those... And now for the ho of the day, lets call her Cynthia, shall we? And while we are on the ho line, lets add some fisting ho's. They'll be Mindy & uh, Mandy. Ok, enough for today, enjoy the ho's. Here is something that will help you enjoy yourself even more! DIY Woman! Man, why do I even bother with a girlfriend...

Day 114

The view from my window at work.

10.09.2004
Shiny day, shiny day...  It's  pay day! Yay! Finally, the days of toil will be reimbursed in full! Well, not until monday, technically, since my work place employs a different bank from mine, blah blah blah... But I am looking forward to the paycheck. Which will be very modest, but it will pay for the rent and the Internet connection. And leave me enough money in the bank to buy a few beers and put a few bucks on the savings account. But enough about that.
I was intending to go out to town today, straight after work, to enjoy the sunshine and snap a few pics, maybe drink a cup of tea on a terrace... But instead I went home, called Bonus up and now am sorta going to play pool a bit later this evening. However, before we were to go out, I decided to indulge in some culinary delights. I don't know what came over me lately, but I started to cook at home, at least for myself, much more often. There used to be a time when I used to poison myself every second time I made food. Don't ask me how, but I managed to poison myself with noodles as my only "weapon". Today I decided to make a meal with the ingredients on the pic of the day, and the result was.. Fried noodles with eggs, with turkey meatballs mixed in. Yummy! Sigh. Now I am all fed and ready to go out, will take my camera along and share any pics worthy of notice with you tomorrow.
And now for the linksies.. Something cropped up in Sweden. Not very surprising, is it? The signs were there ages ago...  And then for the always entertaining Hamas. This quote should not come as a suprise either. Ho hum. Go young radicals, go! Rolleyes Oh, and while we are on a somewhat political subject, here is a political quiz you can take. And in case you wonder what my result was...  Well, it's a long story, but here they are in full.

Day 113

Ah! Cuisine par excellence!

08.09.2004
G'evening, people. I have a problem: I am running out of casual starting phrases for the entries. Every time I say something like "Evening, folks!" I feel like a dry, old, obstinate bastard. But that is neither here nor there...
I had my driving theory exam today. For those not in the know, I lost my driving license after I smashed into a taxi (MB 300, nice... And expensive!) with my company car, a car we used for ferrying VIP visitors, Chrysler Stratus. While that in itself is bad enough, it gets worse. I was drunk. 1.10 promilles. Yes, please spare me from the lectures. I know, it's wrong, dangerous, blah blah blah. I was young, dammit, I've learned my lesson. 15 000 Eur was its cost. and I'm still paying... By the way, there was a girl in the car with me. She is now my girlfriend..! Funny how life works out, eh? But back to the exam. I failed it. Miserably. Made 16 mistakes, out of 8 allowed (there were 50 questions all together). The re-take is next monday. By the way, when I took my exams the first time around, it took me 7 tries to get through theory. And only one try for the actual driving exam. Go figure...
But enough about that. I want to (shortly, don't worry) tell about the lunch I've had today. The marvelous thing about it was its cheapness. French fries - 60 Cents. Turkey meatballs - 99 Cents. Pickles (I love my pickles, I do) - 60 Cents. All in all, 2.20 Eur! Not bad, eh? And boy was it good! I had a nice 2 hour nap afterwards.
After the nap Bonus came over and brought a DVD with him. Something I have not seen before, a Russian movie called "Ночной дозор", or "Night Watch" in English. It is (somewhat loosely, I admit) based on a series of wonderful novels by Sergei Lukyanenko. The movie, when it came out, generated a lot of publicity in Russia and beyond, and was the first real blockbuster since the soviet times. It drew more people than Spiderman 2 and Troy, for fuck's sake... I've heard a lot about the "Night Watch". Some of my friends called it a complete and utter disaster, some just didn't really like it, and only a few of them did like it... But let me say something: I loved it. Sure, it differed from the novels, but so what? It still made for a very entertaining flick. Great atmosphere, good actors... I recommend.
Oh, and here is something I've found while roaming on the web:  nerdy tattoos!! All sort of game and general software / hardware related tattoos. Here, then, is a review of different kinds of Vodka: Which Vodka is the best?

Day 112

The picturesque surroundings of my driving school.

07.09.2004

Evening, folks! I somehow managed to cheer up after the little downer I had yesterday. No worries. Although I must say it is always a bugger, coming back to work after a (almost) week of "holidays". For starters, there was nothing to do at work this morning. I slouched around, aimless.. But luckily, an order came in, and I was back on the track in no time. This time it was something slightly more hi-tech than I usually get, testing RFID cards we make for a big airline (all hush hush! ;). Cutting edge stuff, that. I even had to wear sterile white cotton gloves, lest my greasy little fingers were to soil the virginal plastic of the cards.
Got word from my cousins, at last. Apparently they already arrived at their destination, Krasnodar! I guess they must have gotten their plane tickets straight away in Moscow.  Kinda figures I guess, since there is little rush to fly there nowadays... However, their joy at a quick and safe return was ruined by the news that my guy cousins, Petya's, good friend died a few days before his arrival. He died while on a night shift at his workplace, a supermarket, from an asthmatic episode. The emergency services didn't get there on time..
But oh well.  On the lighter note, I am now trying (and succeeding) to learn knots. They come in awfully handy when you sail. And I've never really learned them, which earned me a lot of rebuke from my old friend I sometimes sail with. Well, no longer! Yarr!
And now for some links... Here you can find tons of yummy chicks, and here... Well, um, some more chicks... Nothing wrong with porn, m-kay? Besides, we haven't had any for a while here on Friggin...
Day 111

Learning the knots.

06.09.2004
The school has started. Not for me, however. I am fed up with my school, and am applying somewhere else at the moment. Will not, however, reveal where to, as plans are liable to change.
So here I sit, feeling crap, nothing to do, and no money to do it with. I work, of course, but it is just so mind numbingly dull. You get up at, say, 07:30, at work at 08:30, do your boring shit there, get home at 16:00 or 17:00, and then what? Go back to bed after a quick game of whatever on your PC? I don't even feel like going anywhere after work. And if I do, it is usually to drink beer somewhere, and I just feel guilty afterwards, for spending money on that. Or then I just end up drinking too much and not going to work the next day, feeling even guiltier.
But I guess things could be much worse... I know that. It's just that this kind of aimless existence sucks. I just don't want anything bad enough to work for it. I have no goals to strive for. And that makes me sad.
Another thing makes me sad as well. I almost bought a yacht on Sunday, but my financial backers withdrew. I now have the option of taking a small loan, almost without interest, and buying the boat. However, what with my financial status, I am not too keen on taking that loan. If I have to pay some portion of that out every month, what money will I have left to cover the running costs of the yacht? And even if I have enough to cover that, will I have enough to live off after all the expenses have been paid? 'Tis a conundrum indeed... I guess I will be still buying a yacht, but a cheaper one after all. Will just have to wait and see.
Once again, I think I will share with you whatever I have been able to dig up on the net. For instance a great new p2p app, Shareaza. It's great. I'm leeching "Doom III" at 50 Kb/s as we speak... And another intersting link, an article that deals with the "Fantasy world of the modern day protester". Oh, and by the way, I fixed the comments. Using a different HTML editor now...

Day 110

Cats hunting.

05.09.2004

Yawn. Don't know what's wrong with me, got up at 8 am today! Usually it is my girlie that kicks me out of bed, but not today... I got up, ambled to the computer and parked myself in front of it for an hour. An hour spent playing "Rainbow Six - Raven Shield" online. Not all that great, not enough players on the servers...
Yesterday, however, was a different story. I was originally supposed to stay indoors all day, and just do nothing, read, play... Instead I went to a Used Boat Market. It was hosted by NJK marina, the most expensive and exclusive marina in Finland, and, not surprisingly, very snobby. That pretty much made sure that the price range for the boats on sale was mostly over 25,000 Eur... Way beyond my means. However, there were some nice looking boats for around 10k. Will head out there again today, and we will see what will come of it... At the very least I will get a sailing jacket at the discount sale barn, along with some sailing books.
After the fair we went for a sail on my friend's H-Boat. Although it was more of a wallow than a sail, since the wind died down pretty much as soon as we left the marina proper... But that was quite okay, it was intended to be a relaxing "beer sail" instead of a proper sail anyway. My cousin, who was onboard as well, couldn't for the life of him understand why would anybody buy a sailboat when there are plenty of motor boats on the offer. I tried to explain about the freedom of sail, the exhilaration, but failed, got tangled up in the words, and gave up. I guess it is pretty useless to try and explain it to a person that has never sailed (nor felt the inclination to do so) before.
Ah, almost forgot, my cousins are leaving for Moscow, today at 17:45. It's a pitty to see them go, even though they have been quite a pain in the ass. They will continue their journey from Moscow by air, despite the suicide bombings. I hope all goes well.
And lest we end on a sad note, here's a sprinkling of links: 1: Nice car..! 2: Funny little game.

The floating sale...

03.09.2004
I could barely force myself to write today. You see, I spent the last two nights at my mother's place with the cousins, since mother went off to a fair in Tampere. It was hell. I am so fed up with the buggers... Especially the guy cousin. Anyway, yesterday we decided to play some chess, and happened upon a bottle of Russian bubbly. As my girl cousin went to bed, we stayed up and finished.. Three bottles of champagne, just the two of us. To make matters worse, we topped it off with some cognac. Yay. This morning was not nice at all. As to the chess, well, I won the first 4 games, and after got so drunk that lost 2 in a row.
In any case, the world is still going to hell in a hand basket. Islamofascism is rearing it's ugly head everywhere, various Arabses and their spawn are blowing themselves up all over the place, and leaders get shit thrown at them by out liberal media for, get this, not bowing to the demands of the terrorists. Let me quote Allah from Allah Pundit: "Remember to blame your oncologist when you get cancer". Sigh. I think I should just stop reading news. Just surf around all sorts of fun stuff, forget about everything else... It works great for so many! Crap.
Lets have some distraction from all the gory events all over the place. First of all a new game from Yeti Sports, "Big Wave". Nice, but do turn off the sound if you are playing in the office. I didn't... Then there is a great little game called "Suicide Bomber". Get into the shoes of an oppressed palestinian "freedom fighter" you so admire! Ok. I guess that's enough for now. I'll go watch "Amelie" (I've never trusted French movies, but let's give it a shot, eh?) and enjoy my hangover blues....

My crappy chess set.
