Inglorious

What a surprisingly easy Saturday morning. No head ache, no terrible memories, no moral hangover! Great start to the weekend…

This bears no relation to Germany what so ever.

This bears no relation to Germany what so ever.

Anyway, my last confession update was on 24th, while I was still in Germany. Well, I came back to Finland since then. I hung out at the Düsseldorf airport for an extra hour due to my flight being delayed, and paid 5.95€ for 30min of Internet, internet that should have been free, damn it. The flight went fine, even though it was pretty bumpy, at least compared to the way there. We landed in fog, with the landing strip appearing suddenly right under the wing a few seconds before touch down. I took the flight well, even though I couldn’t drink more than a couple of beers because I had my car waiting for me at the airport. Watched 3/4 of The Punisher: War Zone, a pretty awful movie, but had to stop because we started landing. Still haven’t finished watching it… And probably never will. Another interesting thing to note, I brought 200 old photographs back with me. Photos of my family on dad’s side, from 1920s to 1960s. Painstakingly re-photographed by me!

.

Since I came back it’s been a steady grind at the office. Work, work, work. Nothing strenuous, just dull, dull, dull. At least there was something to do, which I suppose is good. Beats wasting good work time, and might help me keep my job. Although I don’t really know if I want to keep my job… Frankly I would prefer winning the lottery and traveling the world. Or going back to school, that might be another option.

Cold evening walk...

Cold evening walk...

We also went to the movies, gilry and I. I got some discount tickets by buying a Jaffa drink and looking under the cap, so we went to see Inglorious Basterds. Man, what a Tarantino wankfest. I mean, the movie is good, but anyone who sputters cum simply at the mention of his name is a juvenile moron. There was one in the audience that day. He’d quaff at every bit of Tarantino slapstick, smack his lips at every overacted scene, and sigh with orgastic enthusiasm at the sight of gore. He wasn’t 15, either. After the movie ended and his clapping (I shit you not) subsided, I got a good look at him. 35 - 40 white male with a smug post-coital look on his face. Anyway, Tarantino fans aside, the movie was good. Cringe-worthy, but good. Jewish Hollywood’s revenge! And I must say, Tarantino was the perfect vehicle for that. Just good enough and just crass enough. Ok, must run now, gonna watch Deadman Circus at KokoTeatteri now. Btw, the pic to the left is of a walk I was dragged on. It started snowing right about then. I hate winter with its crimson nights.

Daymn, woman...

Daymn, seriously...

(7 hours later) Damn! That was nice. It sure does good to spend one’s Saturday night doing something other than binge drinking. Good for the wallet, good for the liver, and good for the ole’ noggin. And the show was surprisingly decent, as well. There were clowns (female!), an awesome contortionist, the Big Bad Ass Brass Band, who were ok but could be a lot better if they tried, there was also a terrible a capella group, and a fairly mundane performance artist with a cello. The whole thing was crowned by some burlesque style (but not the fat and ugly burlesque we all know and loathe) chicks wearing hotpants. I had to tell girly to stop drooling on a couple of occasions. Don’t know what’s with that girl, honestly!

So hey, before I fall asleep, I declare it to be link time!

.

Ok, here’s a little something in honor of Halloween…
